Libbi's Story: The Overcomer Award

To mark our 15th Anniversary, we were pleased to celebrate four Treasure Award winners who have all been part of Golddigger Trust as young people. We were delighted to celebrate LIbbi by awarding her the Overcomer Award, sponsored by Beingwell, in recognition of her strength of character and courage in the face of difficulties.

Libbi first joined Golddigger Trust back in 2015 when she took part in an I’m The Girl I Want To Be course, aiming to build her self-esteem and belief in herself. Over the years she has taken part in almost every Golddigger Trust programme, and has been supported with long term mentoring and support with her mental health and wellbeing.

I remember meeting Libbi on her first I’m The Girl I Want To Be course when she was a shy 14 year old and to see her start to find glimmers of hope in those early days. It has been such a joy to continue to journey with Libbi over the years, sometimes through very difficult times, and see her grow into the amazing young woman she is today. Watching her come alongside younger girls as a young leader, encouraging and inspiring them has been incredible, she is such a brilliant role model of perseverance and determination to keep going.
— Beth, Chief Executive and Libbi’s course leader

Golddigger Trust has made a difference in Libbi’s life by providing real consistency of support when the rest of life was very difficult. We’re proud to celebrate Libbi and the strength she has shown in all she has walked through. Hear her tell her story below.
